Dr Winning provides periodontal and implant referral services within the practice at Holywood, and for more technical or extensive procedures, out of Kingsbridge private hospital. His main areas of interest are; the treatment of periodontal disease; regeneration; implant dentistry; and cosmetic soft tissue manipulation.

Dr Winning received his undergraduate degree in dentistry at the University of Dundee, Scotland in 2004. He then undertook specialist training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and in 2010 completed a three year full time clinical doctorate at the Dublin Dental School and Hospital (Trinity College Dublin), for which he was awarded first class honours.

He was awarded a Fellowship in Periodontology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and is certified by the European Federation of Periodontology. Since specialising, Dr Winning has worked in practice limited to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry in referral centres throughout Ireland. In 2011 he was awarded the Noel Claffey research prize from the Irish society of Periodontology, and made an honorary lecturer, Queens University Belfast.
